We are currently in the middle of painting and and moving into our new house, but we always take some time to play with the kids and have a good time. It seems, no matter what is going on, as long as "L" is getting some form of attention, she is smiling and laughing. This is no exception...

Halloween
You might be wondering why on earth I am making a Halloween post when we are half way through November. Well that would be due to the fact that my computer blew up, and I just recently built another one. As a result, I have a little bit of catching up to do. We did indeed have fun Halloween even though I had to work. I got home from work to find my family dressed like this...
Kenny got to choose what he wanted between a cowboy and a missionary, and he insisted on being a missionary. We dug out one of my old mission tags and gave it to him. Eliana had no say in the matter, she got stuck being a penguin. It worked out well though, because she is super cute.
Some people didn't know what she was though; a puppy, a duck, a snowman, terradactyl, you know the easy things you might think she is dressed up in.
Kenny and I carved out a pumpkin. It was so much fun. Kenny wanted absolutely nothing to do with the pumpkin guts, but we took a cute picture.
And here's a picture of "L," taken on that same day, just because.

A Day at the Museum
We went to the museum with some good friends of ours, Claudia and her girls.
Kenny loved the whole museum, but would always go back to or ask about the trains.
"L" was with us, but she just slept the whole time, and that didn't make for very interesting pictures soooooooo... I didn't take any.
My favorite exhibits were the tornado and the Black Widow.
and little did I know, but he museum cares so much about the self-esteem of their animals, they go so far even as to add eyeliner to the rabbits.

Blogging again
After having not had one entry for about 3 months, there are lots of events to catch up on. With an effort to keep this entry short (you don't want to read a huge entry, and I don't want to write one), here we go.
On July the 11th "L" had her baby blessing. The baby outfit she wore was the same one that Kimberly wore as an infant. We have had fun playing with the littlest member of our family.
While never neglecting the other one.
Kenny got in on some baking action, this was his first attempt at it, needless to say I didn't eat any of it...
I kept "L" entertained, and she just felt like smiling these big cheesy grins. I LOVED it! In fact I printed this picture and it hangs on my locker at work.
When it comes to parenting, we really are suckers. We'll do just about anything to make our kids laugh or smile.
...even let them wear trash cans on their heads (well Kimberly won't, but I will, and I was in charge this day). Kenny thought his "hat" was the coolest thing. He tried eating with it on, played with his toys, rode his rocking horse, he did not want to take it off for anything.
We also had a family reunion in Utah. I have so many pictures from that event, but there is no way to summarize the event in less than 26 pictures, which would have made this a huge post, which I promised I wouldn't do. I'm going to try and whittle the picture load down and maybe give a synopsis of it later.
I am back in school, and we are house hunting in the Hewitt/Woodway area, in fact we found a couple of houses that we really like and will probably put a bid down shortly. So those of you in the Waco area pray that we get a house so we can stay, and those that live else where you can pray that we don't get the house, but we would really appreciate it if you prayed that we did.

Enjoying the Moments
ife just keeps getting busier. The longer I live the more I realize that we keep running out of time. You really have to prioritize the older you get. I just started school again and that's just yet another thing to put down on the calendar and fit into the family schedule. Between work, diapers, potty training, feeding, eating, cleaning, playing, etc... There are always precious moments though that you live for. I'm not rushing around from one duty to another, don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying each "event" to the fullest as it unfolds, even when it unfolds into a dirty diaper, or vomit on the floor. Here are some of a collection of the precious moments:
Kenny and I have had a lot of time together since "L" was born. Here Kenny is actually saying "cheese!" A month or so ago, we took some family pictures at these bleachers, and apparently Kenny remembers the event quite well. As he and I were walking by he ran over to them, sat down in the spot below, and just started saying "Cheese, cheese, cheese."
When I'm not pulling my hair out, I'm enjoying these kind of moments with my family.

For Those Requesting More Pictures
Babies this small, in my opinion, don't do very much. Kim changes her clothes all the time, and that means we need to take more pictures apparently. As a result of wardrobe changes, but still not doing anything very cool, here are a few more pictures.
I can almost hear the "Awwwww...."
Kenny now interacts with Eliana much more than in the very beginning. Every time he sees her he crawls up and gives her a kiss on the head, and then announces, "Good boy!"
The baby does this pretty much all day long with intermittent smiles during sleep. So I hope this sates the appetite of those of you who have called requesting more pictures.

Welcome Home Eliana!
So that baby finally ended up with a name. After much deliberation, and the best of 7 paper-rock-scissors, we decided upon Eliana Heck.
There is much more of a fuss taking home a baby girl than a baby boy apparently. The outfit was previously decided upon, but the bow was a whole different thing all together. We tried on 3 different bows, five or six times.
Bow #1
Bow #2
Bow # 3
The winner was bow #1, and accompanying outfit.
Kimberly told me that every baby needed to have a "Going Home" outfit, and the "traditional" baby in the car-seat picture, but when I tried to find these pictures for Kenny, I couldn't find anything...
Kenny really wasn't sure how to take it all in. He mulled it over a strawberry,
...and then a pickle...
...and then eventually settled on ignoring her for the most part and played on the computer instead.
The house is busy, with parents who have come to help us out, and curious uncles wanting to lend a hand. Kimberly is getting rest when she can, and Eliana poops, cries, sleeps, and eats. We're excited to have this new member of our family, and anxiously await all the new and fun adventures the Heck family is in for. Thank you for your prayers, thank you for your phone calls, thank you for the support, and a special thanks to the Stirland family for helping us out at 1:30am, we really owe you for that.
