Oh How They Grow Up

It was hard for me to swallow, but Kenny had his first day of preschool on Tuesday. I know all you experienced mothers out there usually rejoice at the opportunity to have a little more peace and calm in the home, but this was my first...

Kenny was so excited to go though, which is great. My first day of school I cried, I also cried the second, third, up until the fifth day of school... ANYWAYS.

Back in Texas

3300 miles later, 53 hours in the car, and averaging 27mpg. Vacation was fun, but it's always a good feeling when you get home.

The first part of our journey we traveled 12 hours and stopped in New Mexico with some of dearest friends, the Parker family.

We also passed a mountain on fire, I've never seen one before...

After arrived in Utah, we had time for a quick nap,

a quick hike,

and then whitewater rafting!

With plenty of things to see and do, there was never a dull moment.

I've also adopted the philosophy that NOT stopping to see my widowed grandmother is BAD karma, so I never miss that opportunity. We love stopping by to see our "Gigi," I think she came up with that name with "G.G." for Great Grandma, in mind.

After hanging out with Gigi were off to join Luke and Kristy. We joined up with Michael, Kiya, Valerie and her children and all went out to Snowbird, where Kenny was able to play in snow in July!

I think this was my favorite part. Kenny had sooooooooooo much fun.

As I'm sure many of you have heard Michael's bull riding stories... yeah we've heard them many times as well, so Luke made him ride the mechanical bull, LOL. To his everlasting credit, he did quite well. Also, of equal entertainment was watching his wife ride the bull as well.

Following Snowbird we saw a good portion of Kimberly's family in Wilson Canyon.

Wrapping up our trip, we stopped by Grandma McConnell.
